Newcastle United and West Brom are interested in signing Russian striker Pavel Pogrebnyak, according to reports.
The 28-year old Stuggart frontman is reportedly looking for a way out of the Bundesliga after Stuttgart signed Hoffenheim forward Vedad Ibisevic this week – and the Premier League is a possible destination.
According to the Russian website Life Sports, NUFC are prepared to pay €4.5 (£3.3m) to bring Pogrebnyak to Tyneside.
However, the Daily Mirror reports that West Brom are keen on bringing the Russian International to the Premier League on a loan deal until the summer.
6ft 2″ Pogrebnyak has scored 22 goals in 90 games for Stuttgart since his move from Zenit St. Petersburg in 2009. His nickname ‘Pogreb’ means ‘The Cellar.’
