We all remember where we were when Newcastle scored four goals in 45 minutes to earn a point against Arsenal. The 4-4 draw is one which will be remembered for a lifetime. Last night, Sweden replicated the Toon’s dramatic comeback when against all odds they clawed back a four-goal deficit against Germany.
When Mesut Özil fired home Germany’s fourth in the early stages of the second half, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the team ranked second in the world had secured all three points in the World Cup qualifying match. However, what commenced in the final 30 minutes of the game was truly phenomenal. Germany’s defense fell apart and Sweden saw hope when many would have given up and accepted defeat.
