PHOTO – Newcastle Kit Sponsored By Wonga!

Today Newcastle United announced a four year sponsorship deal with Wonga. One fan has sent in a picture of what the Newcastle football shirt will probably look like under the new sponsor:

The Wonga sponsor will be on shirts from next season. The photo gives us a general idea of what it would look like on black and white stripes.

Well the sponsor deal doesn't come in until next season and they stated that fans will have some sort of say in the design, so it won't look anything like this and as such this is completely pointless.

Got no problem with this really. Wonga probably puts 15 million £ or something into the club and supports the community and the academy, plus our stadium will get its rightfully name back. Thank you very much, Wonga! Know a couple of people that`s used them, no problem with those guys as long as you pay the money back. Isn`t that the fact with any financial institution? Can`t see why Wonga are any worse then for an example AIG(thanks for the financial melt down, guys!) or Chevy(american tax payers paying the sponsor money to Man.Ure - good one! You couldn`t see that coming a couple of years ago...) And we wanted a global brand? Why? Just why? Does a global brand really attract more asian fans then a german bakery or an english foundation - really? So playing proper football is not the important thing any more? As long as the lads keep up the good work, we`ll be fine. So far, so good, i suppse!

hi all, prob going to get into trouble for saying this but i work at nufc i can confirm that the deal is worth 8 mil for shirt sponsor plus 12 mil for stadium yes it will be st james park but what you may not know there will be wonga signs in and around the ground . also not to mention the 1.5 in the investment of our youth system. so all up thats 21.5mil a year in sponsor money .. thats very good i think
