Newcastle right-back Danny Simpson is being linked with Spanish side Espanyol, but insists he’s happy on Tyneside and can’t see himself leaving anytime soon.

Today’s Sun newspaper says the 25-year can sign a “pre-contract agreement” with the La Liga team if he fancies moving to Spain.
However, Simmo told talkSport that he isn’t leaving:
“I’m staying. I never once considered leaving. As far as I’m concerned I’m staying here. I love the players and I love the manager. He [ Alan Pardew] is a top manager and he’s a good friend as well.
“You’ve seen what the fans are like so why would I want to leave this place?”
Newcastle offered him a new £20,000-a-week contract at the end of last season, which he has turned down. The Magpies will not want to see Simpson see his contract out and may force a move for the consistent defender.
However, the signing of replacement Mathieu Debuchy has hit the buffers with Lille frustrated at Toon’s failure to meet his valuation.
What do you make of this rumour? How important is it to keep hold of Danny Simpson without the signing of Debuchy?
