A poll of a French football website shows there is plenty of support for Mathieu Debuchy in his bid to join Newcastle United.
Debuchy’s dream move to Newcastle has been blocked by Lille, who say Newcastle have failed to meet the player’s valuation. This morning, we’re told Newcastle have moved on to other targets much to the frustration of the right-back.*
Football website Maxifoot asks readers: Are Lille right to block Debuchy’s move?
Nearly 34,000 people have voted so far and 59% say NO, adding he either deserves to be left out of the Lille team or that it’s never good to retain a player against his will.
41% say YES, saying Lille have a right to keep their best players and that Newcastle should meet the player’s valuation.
