Should Newcastle United bring Andy Carroll back to Tyneside and rescue him from his Liverpool ‘nightmare’?

The Gateshead born striker has struggled to make the desired impact on Merseyside, since his £35 million move to Liverpool last year.
Carroll was NUFC’s prized asset, a number 9 in the Alan Shearer mould, living the dream by leading the line at St James’ Park. His departure stunned Toon fans but in hindsight £35 million looks like a brilliant piece of business from Mike Ashley.
Now, with Liverpool’s new manager Brendan Rodgers saying that he would let Carroll leave on loan to develop as a player, reports of a return to Tyneside have resurfaced. Alan Pardew has already refused to speculate on potentially bringing Carroll back, but today’s Independent newspaper says Toon are plotting a £10 million bid for Carroll.
So, what are the reasons for and against bringing Andy Carroll back to St James’ Park? You’ve been telling us on our Twitter account @nufcfans. The response has been amazing, as always and here’s a selection of the replies.
