Leon Best has joined Blackburn Rovers on a 4-year deal.

The 25-year old’s representatives were in advanced talks with officials at Blackburn last week. The deal has now been confirmed by Rovers, with the fee being “more than £3m.”
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew confirmed reports of a medical in Lancashire earlier today. He told Richard Bacon from Wimbledon that Best was moving for first-team football.
Blackburn, who recently sold Yakubu Ayegbeni to Chinese club Guangzhou R&F identified Best as a replacement and moved swiftly, despite late interest from Premier League Norwich and Southampton. They have given him the number 9 shirt, once worn by Alan Shearer.
Signed by Chris Hughton from Coventry City in January 2010, Best played his part in the Newcastle United evolution.
His 42 league appearances and 10 goals for the club have been sporadic due to injury and the emergence of other players, although last season he made 18 Premier League appearances, scoring four goals. One of his finest moments for Newcastle came in the 5-0 win over West Ham, where he scored an impressive hat-trick.
Best was also influential in the club’s 4-4 draw against Arsenal. Scoring a goal, having another incorrectly ruled out for offside and winning a penalty too.
Everyone at NUFCfans.co.uk would like to wish Leon the very best at Ewood Park.
