Two of the biggest clubs in Turkey have made an approach for Newcastle striker Demba Ba, but a close friend has tonight told NUFCfans.co.uk that the frontman wants to remain on Tyneside.

There has been constant speculation regarding the future of the 27-year old, ever since news of a release clause (reportedly £7m) was leaked by Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp.
Now, Turkish giants Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray have both been in touch with Newcastle to enquire about the striker’s availability. Although there has no official bid, both clubs have been alerted to the release clause.
In a separate development, a close friend of Demba Ba, who wishes to remain anonymous has told us that the player is hopeful of agreeing a new deal to remain at Newcastle.
Alpha (alias) told NUFCfans.co.uk:
“Demba [Ba] loves the people of Newcastle and has found a new home at the club.
“He has told the boss [Alan] Pardew and his agent that he wants to stay with the team, but the matter is between his agent and the club now.
“He [Ba] doesn’t care about the money. He wants to be happy with his football and win trophies. He has made a lot of good friends in Newcastle and thinks this team will only get better.”
Alpha also said that Ba wasn’t aware of any release clause being part of his contract – until more recently. The clause will be activated by any club meeting the valuation by 31st July.
Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with the Senegalese striker who scored 16 goals for Newcastle last season.
