Reported Newcastle United target Douglas says five clubs wants to sign him including a ‘bigger club than Newcastle.’

The FC Twente centre-back has been strongly linked with a move to Newcastle – and is thought to be a top target for boss Alan Pardew after Newcastle opened talks with his representatives at the end of the season.
Douglas has now seemingly burnt his bridges with the Dutch outfit, after issuing a come and get me plea.
He told NUsport:
“I have spent five years [at Twente] and have done my best for the club. I have won the title, the cup – it’s time for a next step.”
“Five clubs are interested and there’s a bigger club than Newcastle. I cannot still say anything about it, but I hope soon to have my new club.”
At 24, the Brazilian has also attracted interest from Chelsea, Tottenham and Schalke. He has already shunned an approach from Ajax, preferring a move abroad:
“I want to go abroad as I have outgrown the league.
“I noticed this year that I am sometimes a little too easy going down, then you make mistakes. I want to be tested every week.”
Any deal to bring Douglas will involve a compensatory figure, as Twente have a one-sided option to extend his stay for another season.
He has played over 130 games for FC Twente since moving to them from Joinville in 2007.
