Newcastle United are in talks with Melbourne Heart FC over the transfer of defender Curtis Good – but a fee has not been agreed, the A-League club has told NUFCfans.co.uk.

The Mirror reported that the Magpies had agreed a fee of £386,000 for the 19-year old centre-back after his impressive 10-day trial on Tyneside in April. Today, The Journal mentioned Good as transfer target for Newcastle and there are strong rumours in Australia that the transfer could be officially confirmed in the next 24 hours..
However, despite this – Melbourne Heart’s General Manager John Didulica has told NUFCfans.co.uk that ‘no deal‘ has been done between the clubs.
In an e-mail response, he wrote:
Curtis trialled with Newcastle United in April, and since that time I have had ongoing contact with Newcastle regarding his progress, given he is back in training with Melbourne Heart in advance of our coming season.
I can absolutely assure you however that no deal has been done with our club.
Curtis is an exceptional young player and I have little doubt he will be a future international with Australia.
The left-footed 6ft 1″ Good made 24 appearances for the Melbourne club in his breakthrough season. If he signs, he will have company in academy talent and Aussie Brad Inman. Newcastle was also the home of former Australia captain Craig Moore.
