Newcastle United provided a feast of football for fans last season, and where the Beefeaters of England failed in Euro 2012, step in our very own Jonas Gutierrez and Fabricio Coloccini to add their own taste of culture.

Jonas has found a butcher in Newcastle who knows about Argentinian meat, and who better to share it with than Fabricio and family, and a dash of armchair football aperitif, FIFA 2012 vintage.
The duo are part of a feature on Barclays Premier League World this week – where we are introduced to Jonas’ mother, father (Ricardo), partner (Denise) and dog too.

The players did have time to chew over some points from last season too, with the new season just six weeks away and St. James Park set to tuck into some coq au hotspurs on Saturday 18th August.
From food to football, Jonas said:
“In football, the most difficult thing is to keep up the performances – so next season will be even tougher.
“The fact we’re in top five now gives us lots of satisfaction because we worked hard for it.
“Demba Ba did well for us and when he stopped scoring – Papiss Cisse came along.”

Speaking about his role last season, Jonas was as gracious as ever:
“I always try to give my best each season and try to learn new things. I try to take care of myself as much as I possibly can.
“I am happy to help the manager, however he needs me.”

Not to be outdone on the cooking front, we received a photo (sorry cannot find the source due to water damage) of Newcastle teammates with Pardew at the helm on a fishing expedition – as the Tyne came to St. James’ Park.
Not so much Argentinian, but maybe something French or Dutch on the menu? We’re led to believe Papiss Cisse is still on holiday.

You can catch the Jonas & Colo piece on Barclays Premier League World on Sky Sports 1 at midnight (BST) or Friday at 9.30am (BST) on Sky Sports 2.
