Newcastle United (Form last 6 PL – WWWWWW)
Alan Pardew could name an unchanged starting eleven as his side go in search of their seventh straight win.
Yohan Cabaye limped off after scoring a brace against Stoke last week but he will be fit for the trip to the North West.
United have also been boosted by the return of French wingers Sylvain Marveaux and Gabriel Obertan. Although both will miss tomorrow’s game they should be fit to feature in the last three games of the campaign.
Only Steven Taylor (Achilles) and Sammy Ameobi (knee) remain long-term casualties for the Magpies.
Wigan Athletic (Form last 6 PL – LWWLWW)
Colombian forward Hugo Rodallega is hoping to return after a seven-week absence with a knee injury.
He may replace Franco Di Santo who is struggling with a calf problem while defender Ronnie Stam is also unlikely to feature.
Diminutive winger Albert Crusat is back in contention having recovered from a calf injury for the Latics.
The Game
Newcastle are on a hot streak of form and look relentless in their pursuit of a Champions League place while Wigan have produced some stunning results recently as they bid to beat the drop. The Magpies’ forward line continues to purr and Yohan Cabaye is in fine form, chipping in with two goals as United cruised past Stoke last Saturday. The Toon Army will also be at the DW Stadium in force having sold out their 4,500 allocation for the game.
Wigan have claimed the scalps of Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal in recent weeks and young winger Victor Moses has been outstanding. Moses was once a Newcastle target but tomorrow Danny Simpson will be charged with stopping the Nigerian live-wire. The return of Hugo Rodallega would be a real boost while the Latics’ must be strong defensively to stop Newcastle’s star studded forward-line.
NUFC likely line-up – Krul; Simpson, Williamson, Coloccini, Santon; Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Tiote, Gutierrez; Ba, Cisse.
