Ryan Taylor was today singing the praises of Fabricio Coloccini and Jonas Gutierrez.
The duo had a rocky start to their NUFC careers, however Taylor believes they have now firmly established themselves as important players for the team.
He told the Journal:
“Colo and Jonas have been massive for this club.
“Colo deserves the captain’s armband he’s got now.
Taylor, who is returning from an ankle injury, reflected on when the Argentina duo first arrived on Tyneside.
“I think when he first came he found it tough.
“But to come from where he has, the two of them have settled in now and hopefully the two of them will stay at the club for a long time.
Coloccini in particular deserves the accolades as team captain:
“Colo has come a long way, but he deserves that captain’s armband.”
Coloccini joined the Magpies from Spanish club Deportivo in 2008. Gutierrez also joined the club from Real Mallorca in the same year.
